FRIDAY must have been a FULL MOON DAY! All manner of bad mojo in the air!
I took my beloved Mom to her doctor's appointment. New meds and a doctor who really cares!
The trouble came when I tried to pick up my Aunt Alice from her Adult Day Care Center! The center's nurse informed me that my Alzheimered Aunt Alice was her own power of attorney and was in her "right frame of mind" and that she had signed a document stating that she was going to reside with the nurse in assisted living in her house! The nurse would take my aunt's social security check and give Aunt Alice a monthly $40 allowance!
She told me to contact Adult Protective Services! I was floored!
I went to my 2PM meeting with an attorney on a matter that concerns my Mom's side of the family. My grandfather died on June 30, 2005 at the age of 101. Here's where it gets dirty as in soap opera dirty! The will has not been probated. There are two factions in the family. A greedy uncle wants all 10 acres to himself! He forced my poor grandpappy to sign a will 11 days after my grandma passed away back in 1989.
This is just one horrible mess. It would be a bloody comedy if it were not all true.
None of Aunt Alice's siblings care about her! She has 5 acres coming to her.
Our attorney advised us to politely ask the nurse from the adult daycare if she has a power of attorney or letter of guardianship. If they do not have either...she can come home with us.
This is just a skeletal run through of the story. I could write a book on it all.
My brother was my grandad's provider. He bathed, fed, and changed his adult diapers. NONE of Gpapp's children wanted to do anything for him!
He suffered two strokes and caught pnemonia in the last two years of his life.
Any advice?
God bless you all!
